حلم به چه معنا است؟
پرسش:
حلم به چه معنا است؟
پاسخ:
سلام بر دلهای پر مهر شما مهربانان
حلم به معناي بردباري است و يكى از صفات پسنديده و از فضايل اخلاقى محسوب مى شود. در تفسير و تعريف حلم امام حسن (ع) مي فرمايد: حلم همان فرو بردن خشم و تسلّط بر نفس است.(1)
صفت حلم بايد با صبر و وقار همراه و ملازم باشد. به شخصى كه صفت حلم و بردبارى دارد حليم مى گويند. پيامبر(ص) فرمود: "كاد الحليم ان يكون نبيّاً؛(2) انسان حليم به نبوّت و پيامبرى نزديك است".
صفت حلم گرچه براى همه زيبا است امّا در مواردى حلم بسيار لازم است:
1ـ در علما و دانشمندان صفت حلم بسيار زيبا است. امام علي(ع) فرمود: "كمال العلم الحلم و كمال الحلم كثرة الاحتمال و الكظم؛(3) حلم براى علم زيبندگى مى آورد و كمال حلم در صبر و فرو خوردن خشم است". باز فرمود: "الحلم زينة العلم؛(4) حلم زينت علم است".
2ـ براى كسى كه قدرت بر انتقام دارد:
اميرالمؤمنين (ع) فرمود: "ليس الحليم من عجز فهجم و اذا قدر انتقم انّما الحيم من اذا قدر عفا و كان الحلم غالباً على امره؛(5) حليم كسى است كه وقتى قادر بر انتقام گرفتن است بر خود مسلط باشد و انتقام نگيرد".
حال اگر كسى بردبار و حليم نباشد، بلكه عجول و بداخلاق و تند و بد زبان باشد اگر بتواند با اصرار و فشار اين صفت را بر خود تحميل كند، مخصوصاً در مواردى كه غضبناك مى شود خود را كنترل كند و به تعبير ديگر حلم را بر خود تحميل كند كم كم داراى صفت حلم مى شود، اين گونه افراد كه حليم نيستند، ولى با زور و فشار حلم را بر خود تحميل مى كند و كم كم صفت حلم در آنان ايجاد مى شود و براى آنان حلم و بردباري عادى مى شود، لذا آن حضرت فرمود: "اگر حليم نيستى خود را به حلم وادار كن؛ زيرا كسى كه خود را شبيه به قومي كند كم كم مانند آنان مى شود".(6)
امام صادق(ع) نيز فرمود: "اذا لم تكن حليماً فتحلّم؛ اگر حليم نيستى خود را به حلم داشتن بزن و حليم جلوه گر كن".(7)
علم غير از حلم است . علم از طريق تحصيل و كسب معرفت وفراگيري از استاد به دست مي آيد ولي سرچشمه حلم تسلط بر نفس و بلندي همت و ايمان به خدا و علم و آگاهي مي باشد. (8) حلم به معناي صبر و بردباري است و اين يك حالت نفساني و عملي است و با علم و آگاهي تفاوت دارد.
